25a would be more than you would have if not for older family members setting you up.
I farm well over 100 times more than the poster but still remember the first 40 I rented and how excited I was!
Maybe if you started from nothing like I did you might be more humble....
To answer the original question:
I'd set a budget and not borrow a dime. If a 3020D or 706D fits your budget, look long and hard for a good one for sale privately that's been owned by the same guy for a long time. You can pretty well tell about it just by looking at the farmstead as you pull up the driveway.
