Subject: RE: Gavins Point Dam planned releases 150,000

South-central Nebraska
I read somewhere last night when searching for flood info that the Gavins point Dam is capable of letting 500,000 cfs of water. Maybe the Corp hasn't made perfect decisions but how were they supposed to dump all this water in to a system (Mississippi) that was already flooded earlier on? Even our much smaller Republican Basis is full and releasing out of the flood gates. Very heavy rainfall in area this spring has surpassed normail expectations. If many of these lakes started half full and the spring was dry, the irrigators would have pointed fingers at the corp for realesing too much.
