| My intention was to use the futures trading features. At this point, if I want to sell some of my 2011 crop, I need to call the elevator and either do a futures fixed contract or a cash contract. I can also call a feedlot and possibly have the same options. Who is to say what the basis will do between now and my chosen month of delivery. Who is to say what feedlot or elevator will have the best basis bid at that time? I would rather not be tied to any one entity when I begin the marketing process. I am not really interested in the advice GoGrain provides. I was just under the impression that you could buy and sell futures contracts as well as do options trading. Maybe there is a better place to get those tools? | |
