SW Ontario | I have all the cover grates out. I don't see how they help threashing as they are at the back where you are doing the separating. My experience is that they help put grain out the rotor...so OUT they come. The theory (from Deere) is that without them they can over load the sides of the sieves so you will get shoe loss. Unless you have tremendous MOG due to a really ripe crop, you will put more grain in the tank at a higher rate leaving them out. | |
