| Gray and drizzle here today too. Really hasn't amounted to much. Precip forecast for 6 of next 7 days.
Was supposed to help neighbor brand today. Sat tight for a while and called it off about 9AM. Gonna try for Tues now. I'm glad we are using tables instead of wrestling calves. At my age I much prefer the "farmer way"! ;-)
One of the guys brings a dual chute setup so we can run two tables off one alley, with one stove and two sets of irons. The portable chute was a brilliant idea that he built out of an old steel stock rack and scrap iron. Can manhandle it on and off a flatbed. Works so slick he should patent the idea. Only thing I can think to improve it would be having it's own removable hitch with a set of transport wheels similar to the old Powder River squeeze chutes. | |
