Dumping massive amounts of oil, making nasty noises, not holding charge pressure, and numerous bolts between the covers and the cam ring popped.  Trusted source tells me that the cam ring is probably cracked.  Don't really have the luxury of time right now.  Will invesitgate as soon as the spraying and planting are done.
