Now, here in Mn, no way would they allow such a ditch in the road right - away . . . . . Some drunk or texting driver would drive off and kill themselves and screw up the watering ditch . .  . If that didn't happen, then the frost/heaving of winter/spring would.

Does that happen? Someone hitting the ditch and breaking it?
Anyone ever take a kayak  down one ? lol
