NE Indiana | You're screwed.
My mailbox is a simple affair, and had sustained some damage in the past. I trashed it, but about 20 screws later it really didn't look too bad. She just never noticed. I think the statute of limitations has passed, so I should legally be in the clear now.
If it was fall I would suggest you throw a huge pumpkin next to it and blame the "dang kids", but being out of season I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you could throw a couple of beer cans around it and they will think a drunk driver did it. Good luck.
