I would have to say lately the valves have been more consistent. In 2008 we started using the rate controllers w/ a 3/4" butterfly in the bypass position. We had our JD AMS dealer people & cooperate JD AMS out to try make it work. They said for the rate controllers to work you must use in the throttling position. Since then we did what they recommended and still didn't have any luck. The most these controllers do for us is to display the actual applied rate, and the guys adjust the pump speed on the tractor hydraulics to compensate for the rate.

Maybe now with some of the later updates it would work better in the bypass position. Might have to try that. I'm starting to think the pump controls are the way to go. At least now the RC's finally do PWM. Thanks for your input!
