Yes. We seem to have a growing movement in our country that feels compromise is a sign of weakness. It's their way or the highway. They can't discuss anything without government or right or left being in the discussion - or their byline.  I think this is strongly related to lacking a basic level of civility.

Civility may be another way of saying tolerance?
