Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | My 84 model Steiger Panther KM 325 has that thermostat added to cycle the AC compressor on / off. The original setup had only a fixed setting thermostat connected to the evaporator to cycle the compressor off if the evaporator was cool enough to freeze up. The original AC temp was controlled by blending cold AC and warm air. With this new adjustable thermostat added, AC temp is controlled by cycling off the compressor when the cab is cool enough..
Mine was already converted to R134a, so I do not know if adding that adjustable thermostat was part of the R134a retrofit or not.
