Subject: RE: Schlagel closing wheels ?s

DE
never heard of running just one per row. I have one row (2 wheels 1 left, 1 right) set up on a 6 row 7200 planter. I run mostly strip till. Pull solid wheel packer and planter behind dmi 2500 strip till. They work great in tilled ground and in almost all strip till. Only time I have problem with them is in strip till after we chop rye silage which is sowed 3 bushel per acre. Between the massive root mass and compaction from the wagons, the sclagels will sometimes have trouble closing especially if ground is wet and heavy. One time I had to remove them and put the cast iron wheels on to get slot closed. I have mine interlocked/ intermeshed.
