Subject: Re: Switching varieties w/Integra?

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The above information about quitting for the day and returning to the same field tomorrow is correct.

Here's another situation that you may run into. Suppose Dad plants part of a field and for whatever reason quits before it is done and goes to another field. He would then change the operation by picking the new field, same configuration and the variety or varieties to be planted. He then plants this other field.

Later he returns to the first field to finish it. He would pick that field again, same configuration and variety. He may see a message asking "create new map" or "add to last map". This question confuses some operators.

In the scenario described, Dad would want to choose "add to last map" since he has returned to finish the field. He would want today's planting to be added to the partial map from before.

Suppose you use the Integra with a sprayer. Again suppose you spray part of a field and don't finish it but return again another day. Once again the message "create new map" or "add to last map" might appear. Once again the correct choice would be to "add to last map".

You might ask "so when would you ever use the create new map choice?" Another scenario: You spray a field with Rup/water and complete it. Later you find that you need to spray it again. Once again when the field is chosen, configuration and product picked, the system will notice that this product has been applied in this field this year and ask the "create new map" or "add to last map" question. This time the "create new map" choice is appropriate because you wish to have a new map from scratch for the second application of the same product.

By having these choices and using them correctly, the map and autoswath features will work out properly for the various sequences of events.

Also be aware that the removable memory card is generally not being used for data logging as you go. This information is being logged on the internal memory (nonremovable) device. When a session is done, this file can be copied from the internal memory to the removable memory card so that you can transfer this information to another device such as a PC. The system can be set to do this copy procedure automatically at the end of a session or the operator can chose to do the copy procedure at will.
