And the true 2wd should require less maintance in the front end that the 4wd without a transfer case would still probably need.  The biggest advantage to a true 2wd other than the purchase price would be the fuel economy should be quite a bit better. 



I just looked at a 2007 2500HD 2wd with the 6.0 gas and the 3.73 rear end with 35,000 miles. Guy ordered it new and had EVERY tank of gas through it in a log book. 17.1 mpg average--Impressive!! That's twice what my 3500 hd 4wd with dump beds get!!!

$14,000. Think I will go buy it today if he hasn't sold it already
