Subject: Green tractor Red planter Pro 600 Question? Swath not correct

Obion,TN
I have an 8345r pulling a 1240 CIH planter. I am having to run my start early distance at 7ft to get it to swath correctly. I am running foward offset at 68ins. (center of rear axle to center of reciever) and bar distance at 353ins. (center of seed tubes to center of rear axle). Something must not be measured right or I should be able to run my start early distance at 1ft or less correct? In the manuel it says for tractors with CASE IH AUTOGUIDANCE to measure from seed point to rear axle and on other tractors to measure from seed point to center of GPS. Since I am not auto steering with my pro600 from which point should I measure? Looks like the only way you should measure from seed point to center of GPS is if you had no forward offset or do the two not coencide. If I measure from seed tube to GPS and leave the forward offset in would I not be doubling the forward offset?
I hope someone can explain this because it is confusing. Thanks
