| My boss worked for an Ih dealer around that time, they were at a service school in Chicago and he got to drive the prototype powershift model. He said it shifted so badly it was horrible. IH was working on a powershift and having financial problems from all their other investment intrests. If they would have gotten a powershift model to work he believes they would still be in business. IH was behind in the full powershift market and thats what poeple wanted. The magnum was a double edged sword because it took down the giant IH and made J.I. Case a huge company. Case improved on the original design but it definatly an IH tractor and a complete success. | |
