That may work in your area if lime is close. Here the closest lime is about 45 miles, and it is only 45% or so. The next couple of quarries are at about 80 miles and are around 55%. The lime costs around $4 at the quarry, but it costs about $10-$14 to have it hauled.
good fine lime hear is over 100 miles away.. lime is $7.70 per ton and trucking is at least $10.00 per ton.. the trucks run loaded both ways. Taking soy beans to market then bringing lime back. |
