East of ML they can dryland wheat on corners every other year. Sandy soils and 6" of annual rain mean sagebrush is the ONLY thing that will grow without irrigation on our corners. The cheat grass will be dead and dried by May 1 in a dry year, and that is a long dry time until August when wheat comes off.
