Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | Our opinion of FCS was pretty high until it became clear that our banker did not understand hedging.
We were in big financial trouble ten years ago after hogs in 1998 and a bankrupcy of a seed company (didn't get paid for a year's crop) in 1999, and got switched to the bad side of FCS. The bad side experience was mostly when I was in college, and the reports were that dealing with the banker was really difficult, to say the least. About the time we were financially stable enough to start looking for financing elsewhere, they switched us back to the good side and everything was OK.
Rates are good, but I sure wish our banker understood hedging. |
