Subject: Twin-Row Fertilizer Question on Dawn Strips?

Independence OR
I am finally finished equipping my Pluribus with a liquid fertilizer system, but now I have to decide how much product to put down. First some background info, my soils are mostly clay loams that are slightly acidic. We are also having a very wet spring, so I imagine soil moisture is going to not be a issue All of my fields that I am planting into were field corn or sweet corn last season. I am also planting twin row corn on the Dawn strips with a Monosem planter. My plan as of now is to place about 60 to 70 units of N and 60 units of P (32sol and 10-34-0) as well as 20 units of S through the liquid tube in the middle of the Pluribus. I am also planning on running 10-34 at 5 gal/row (10 gal/ac) as a pop-up with the planter. The remainder of my N will be top dressed as urea or I can dribble band 32 with drops on my sprayer.

Last season I put my fert down 2x2 with the planter, but my Monosem places the starter on the outside of the rows, which in turn placed the starter off of the worked strip. This season I am hoping that placing the fert with the Pluribus it takes care of the problem as well as speeds up my planting.

My question is how well will the center tube on the Pluribus blend the liquid product into the strip? I was wondering if the liquid would have a tendency to adhere more to the soil than dry prills
would. I am also wondering if broadcasting urea or dribbling 32 witch would be the best application method?

Thank you,

Scott
