Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA
Some guys do use gated pipe, handlines, wheellines, small pivots or some combination, and some fields are better suited to watering the corners than others. Call me spoiled, but if it's not irrigated by pivots we don't farm it, even though cash rent on rill ground is a good bit less than for pivots. I think the more land values go up, the more corners will be developed. There can also be an issue with water allotments. If watering the corners puts you over your acreage, it might not be worth the expense to go after the corners.
