Northeast Indiana (Auburn) | It sounds like the end of the shift lever and/or the rail slot is worn enough that a little extra side pressure when taking it out of gear will cause the shifter to pop out of the rail slot. I have a 275 that has never had that problem but my 1951 Farmall M would if you tried to take it out of gear and into another without allowing the shift lever to get fully into the neutral zone. I have pulled the shift lever out and use a big screw driver to slide the forks many times. |
