southern MN | I got an old XP computer from a relative.
It has about:blank malware on it, and many other gremlins and botch up updates, extranious software, etc.
I want to reformat it & re install and have a clean system, probably to give to a friend for future considerations.
The version of Word/Works on it came with the computer, and he has the original disks. However, in a fit of neatness, he threw away the paper sleeves they came in and put the CD's in hard jackets. Well, that means no code to activate the Word/Works - got thrown away with the paper sleeves.....
Is there any way to salvage this situation? I don't feel like buying anything to add to this computer, I would just install OpenOffice instead, but would be nice to do the original software if I could. But I don't see a way to save the Word/Works package?
