Subject: Anyone with experience using Ammonium Nitrate blends in a Strip Till Band?

Eastern Iowa
Still have a fair ammount of strip till to do this spring, have some NH3 prepaid and will use it along with P,K, and S on some acres. Running two knife type rigs, one Hiniker/with NH3 capability and one RedBall dry only- both with Montag air carts. Have some acres where I'd like to use a dry only program so I'm able to plant right after the strip till pass but I want at least half of the N on in the band.
Considering using ammonium nitrate + MAP + Potasium Sulfate (110-52-50-17/acre) this will get my rate up to about 500 lb of this blend per acre, and I will sidedress the rest of the N with a liquid side dress unit. Wondering about the handling of Ammonium Nitrate, I've heard it does not flow well in damp conditions. I've done similar mixes in the past using Urea and that worked great but would like to try some Potasium Sulfate and the terminal that handles it only carries Ammonium Nitrate. It should be a great fertilizer but I don't need any handling issues. I will be going through the product quickly at these rates but could get rained out I'm sure and don't need to have a big mess in the tender truck!
Any comments or advice is appreciated!
