![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=15804&type=profile&rnd=486) Edson, Alberta, Canada | I have a bit of an oddity for an Internet hook up. I send/receive my signal by radio link to a mountain approx. 20 km.'s away and from my ISP on their tower my signal goes out into the world on their fiber optic system. My radio signal comes into my house via cable where it hooks into my DLink 1310 router then by cable into my main office computer. I removed the small antenna from my router and connected a small directional antenna c/w about 6 feet of cable that I ran outside my office window under my roof eave and pointed it at my second house in our yard that is ~300 feet away. At the other end I connected a small omni-directional antenna c/w about 6 feet of cable to the computer in that house and mounted it on the window sill inside where it gets full signal strength. I find there is enough signal "bleed" in my own house for wireless connection to laptops pretty much everywhere in the house. I think the antenna's were about ~$30 at my local computer store.
