The kit for the original Cruizer will work with the Cruizer II. You can either do it that way or with the CAN hookup like it showed in your manual. The advantage to doing it the way you are is that you get everything you need to make it work in one kit and no extra pieces are needed. The disadvantage, which won't apply to a lot of people, is if you want to output GPS from the Cruizer II to another device in the cab, that port is now blocked and can't be used. Also, if you wanted to hook up Accu-Boom to this, you'd have to get the CAN stuff anyway, so it would make more sense to hook it up through CAN. Like I said though, this should work, just make sure that both port A and B are set up to 115,200 baud. Once they are set this way, you'll probably have to shut everything down and bring it back up to make it recognize, but then it should go right through. If this is like the original Cruizer, you may have to hit the back button once you are in trying to select your machine type in case the machine list doesn't show up. I've always had luck hitting the back button (who knows why there would be a back button on the first screen of the programming procedure) and getting all the machines to show up. After that it should be pretty seamless.
