First off.......don't pay $1000 for one.
Second....just look at the material used for construction (thickness, ect) look at the welds. Not too much to them so just about anything can be fixed with little effort.
I paid $500 for a set a few yrs ago and been real good. Look on craigslist, allot of "local" companies make them and I figure that they are worth a look, afterall they have a reputation to protect.
How do you know what is a good pallet fork?
