Martinsville, Ohio | Well said, Phil. Can't agree more. The EPA has put their backs up against the wall. Never like the design idea of a V engine diesel. Doesn't make good engineering sense but they have made it work in some form. At what cost?
Do you see any farm applications with V engine diesel or gas? No, they don't work. They were tried and did not work out and never sold.
Ford had a good reputation and were able to get by with it. Many of you love your V8 diesel trucks. I never. Way too costly to operate and undependable.
An inline with manual or automatic transmission will sell as Chrysler has proved. It seems to have kept them in the truck business, at least pickups. The industry is much larger than that, though.
It is obvious a tough pickup with a diesel or gas that burns biofuel would be popular in the farm circle but not many options out there.
I fully expect Ford to fade away and GM and Chrysler with it.
These problems are a big clue to that.
