Shelby, MT | I thought you would give your take on the iPad 2 yesterday after all the excitement was over....
I watched the video with the highlights and my biased opinion was that Apple was doing a little catch up on hardware with the front and rear facing camera. Of course the camera usage on pads are a little over rated, and not going to be used as much as people think. The dual core is prob a great chip but dual core is becoming standard... Thinner, is usually nice but also a pain when trying to hold on, I played with a Archos 10 and thought it was a little too thin and felt I could drop it at any moment. Using my mom's iPad 1 felt more comfortable than the thinner archos.. The HDMI is classic Apple, only $39 for the adapter, is what Jobs said,,, ha ha.... of course a mini HDMI is needed for others with the right type port... I expected a removable memory slot this time with the increase in business use and need for removable memory... oh well it will be on iPad 3 or 4... The new cover is interesting but won't the magnets cause problems with other stuff or are they weak enough.
for software it looked like Apple still reigns with that. Solid, tried and true. Lots of tools and support. I still feel itunes is holding people back and needs to go virtual and be able to be linked to the "i" device and not the base pc/mac unit.... similar to amazon book setup.. that would give the iPad/pod more freedom.
Price.... all pads are overpriced for function but with the Xoom being overpriced I guess apple is holding good.
