Thumb of Michigan
We're on our first season of 100% Rotella. Tractors had been all Deere +50, trucks had been Penzoil. Haven't noticed anything odd with oil usage or anything along those lines. Lots of people I know use to complain about Penzoil, but we never had an oil related failure in any truck. Use to think that we'd get treated better on Deere engine problems, or at least rule that out of the discussion, if we ran Deere oil in Deere iron. Found out that wasn't true. Same with filters.

We switched for one reason only - had 2 drums of oil on the rack, wanted to get to one. Did a lot of asking around (like you are), decided Rotella was as good as anything else, and it was easily available for us. Met the specs of everything we want to run it in.
