If this is in reference to the Combine Mud Hog post on the 2nd page, I would agree that if you don't have good traction on the front tires, the mud hog won't get as much oil pressure, therefore it won't pull as well.
I've also seen that unless duals are spaced wide, mud will ball up between them and really get you stuck.
