Yum Yum I still have some homemade vanilla in the freezer. I thaw the rock hard stuff in the microwave a few seconds and it makes it good again. I use stock salt to make the brine. Everybody loves my homemade ice cream. I cook the mixture until it steams. Some people who get sick eating uncooked eggs get by fine on mine. I use White Mountain electric 6 qt freezers. I have one I bought new a couple years ago and a 40 year old one I bought with a wire broken in the motor. I fixed it with a soldering iron. For some reason, it freezes ice cream very quickly. Takes the newer one twice as long! Guess maybe the newer bucket isn't as good an insulator?
