Subject: RE: Settings for Wheat

West Tennessee
Personally I was glad when we went to a 9610 and just go by a number setting. I've used a tape measure, estimated using my finger, and used the ruler on the side of my gerber pliers. John Deere at one time made a tool to do just this. I've seen them on ebay in the past (but not in a long time). I don't think they still make them. I even thought about making one once upon a time. At one time we set our lower screen by throwing a handful of wheat in there with it closed and opening it enough that it fell through. This is only my personal opinion but I think the other adjustments (cylinder, concave, fan, etc.) are more important than getting the screen adjustments just perfect although I know others who will disagree. Just some random thoughts. Sorry but not much help.
