I've got a 383 chevy small block with a Mallory unilite mechanical advance distributor. My timing is erratic above about 3500RPM's, I pulled the distributor and found a broken spring on the mechanical advance, I replaced the spring and it is STILL erratic.
What other possible causes of erratic timing could I have? Stretched timing chain????
