Eastern Iowa | Have a 85 GMC 6000, 366, 5 speed direct, single speed axle. Truck in very good condition, no rust, good cab, seat and tires. The 366 engine is becoming gutless uphill's with my normal load and uses more fuel than ever. A 427 would be the easiest conversation, but still gas. A V-8 diesel would have to be a high RPM engine to stay with the same tranny and rear axle ratios to get any highway speed out of it. I like the truck for my use of it, except for the 366 engine. Any suggestions would helpful. | |
