Subject: Rice tires on front are the first thing you need

NC Missouri
Bought a "dually" a few years ago without deep lugs and it was plum helpless when it got a little muddy (even with mud hog). After put rice tires on lugs cleaned out so traction was MUCH better and no more slipping off the hill side. Mud hog on the back gives an added boost thus preventing a lot of "clawing" up hills when muddy. We used 30.5 rice tires for years without mud hog. It had to get terrible before we couldn't run and then the steel tracks went on. I would never go back to tracks (because of expense, installation hassle and maintenance hassle). Duals with rice tires make a huge difference. Can't give an opinion on 35.5's. If you never start to cut down because of the added flotation you walk over soft ground that you would normally "dig" through till dry land.
