| There are only two shields on that combine that may be considered a fire hazard and even at that they aren't that big a deal. If your combine has the shield under the transmission, that sometimes lets straw and chaff build up around the transmission and hydro. If you take it off for wheat be sure to put it back on before you cut corn because that keeps corn stalks out of the fan. The two doors that cover up the bevel gears that drive the straw/chaff spreaders can let trash build up in there also, but an easy fix for that is to place several plastic tie straps on those shafts. They will keep the area aerated and there will be less build up of trash. Keep all the other shields in place. They all come off in seconds for servicing.
