Subject: Setting up Axial flow to be gentle on straw

Wondering if there were any tips out there. Running the heavy specialty Rochelle rotor, large wire concaves with cover plates. Gonna put in smooth grates and take out the keystocks. Wondering if there was any particular situation of seperator bars or lugs in the back that would matter. I currently run rice spikes over the rear grates and was planning to pull those and either got to standard bars and probably one row of seperator bars.

Thanks for any input.
