| My truck is an 8.2 detroit with an allison auto. Donor truck is an 8.2 detroit with a 5 & 2 manual. (engine Blown). Not abig deal. The only issue i saw was mine has air brakes and the donor has hydraulic brakes. We compared the 2 and it seems that all we would have to do is change a plate that mounts to the firewall and swap everything over. Of course i would have to change pedals, take out the clutch pedal and install the controls for the diff lock and air tag. All in all it seems easier than repairing the body on mine as the roof needs replaced and my body shop friends say that it's a huge pain to do that.
I figure that it will cost me 750 - 1000 to repair and paint the truck i have if i don't have to pay for to much help. The swap i could do on my own with some help from family.
If anybody has more info on the brake deal, i would appreciate the help.
