Everything Ed said about air-cooled Deutz engines is 100% true: the need for German-like zeal in cleaning, the cost of parts, etc.

I know what it is like to keep a 4-cyl FL913 clean in hay balers: they need a complete blow-down every day.

I can't imagine the hassle of trying to keep an air-cooled Deutz clean in a combine.
