South-central Nebraska | Maybe the dealers can chime in as well as anybody else who knows. My neighbor is still debating what 16 row planter to go with and we are listening in as well as we may be a season or two from trading. Sounds like there are some big differences in thickness of planter bars. This guy is comparing CaseIH 1200, JD, and Kinze. He didn't look at a White but I plan to. He keeps getting different specs from different people, anything from 1/4" to 1/2 mainframe etc.. With no-till it matters a lot to me. Are there different hardnesses of steel where a thinner bar may actually be stronger than a thick one? I also realize many planters can either come on a factory bar or a custom built such as Friesen, Bauer, Moorebuilt etc. | |
