| My company brought the Capello chopping corn head into the US market, this is the head that has been on Lexion combines since 1997. Our website is www.capellousa.com go check it out for more information. Our head uses knife rollers and a mower-style chopping system. What sets us apart is the positioning of our choppers toward the front of the row unit which creates an evenly mulched stalk at 2-4 inch pieces because the knife rollers force each stalk directly through the chopper. A rearward chopper essentially chops the stalks after they have been layed-over by the row unit creating an uneven chop and leaving some stalks long. Also, we utilize a single gearbox for each row unit that also drives the chopping system, saving weight over systems that use multiple gearboxes, not to mention fewer moving pieces means less maintenance and repair cost in the future. Our gearboxes are aluminum cast and EVERY row unit is quality tested at the factory to 130% of normal operating speed for an extended period of time to ensure the highest quality.
We have a lot of very desirable features in this head, including low-maintenance, low weight and lower cost of ownership than what you will find out on the market. I would be happy to talk about the Capello chopping corn head with you anytime. My name is Jerod Johnson, I am the Director of the Implement Division at Worthington Ag Parts.
