Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | I would fill it with oil and run it for a bit. Diesel will not stay on parts above the crankcase level. There is a good chance the others are right,the crankcase was overfull with spray/ oil and was feeding from the crancase breather into the carb and causing the smoke. Good chance that nothing is scored. You really should run that engine long enough to get it warm then change oil again. Otherwise any miosture especially corrosive spray will corrode things.
Use cheap oil for flushing and dont worry about the pump seal being dry, It's shot anyway.
