Subject: Re: N 14 cummins?

Colby, KS
The N14 came in 2 variations. Based on the venerable 855 Cummins, tt was made with all mechanical injection for a couple years and was called the N14-STC. Then, it changed to computerized fuel system called the N14-CELECT.

I think the number means that it was built as a 370 horsepower and has been turned up to 430. If I recall correctly, 430 is the max for the N14.

It has the reputation for durability, but one weakness is low oil pressure. Broken piston cooling nozzles are a common culprit. I have one in the shop for that right now. It was making 12 psi oil pressure once warmed up. Oh boy
