for my business data - home accounting - small business accounting, farm records, etc....all these are relatively small files - online is great because, it is effortless, happens every day, and if my computer breaks, disappears, or burns with the house- all my records are just fine.

But photos, movies, etc - those are too big to offload onto the web.....so they need a different backup solution

And as far as your computer itself having a backup of the operating system, that is better done with an imaging type program OR like I tell all people - imagine worst case scenario - you come in one morning and your computer doesn't start or is stolen or gone - do you have what you need to get back to operation? - some people just need a plain out of the box computer - no real need for an imaging program then, because what you imaged on the old computer (programs or drivers or ??) can't be extracted onto a new computer or a different motherboard combo, they have to be installed.
