| Thanks for the informative reponses. We are going to rent one and I will report on the results. As far as the dry on top, plant in the mud question, soils in our part of the world will dry rapidly after an extended period of rain if they are opened up in any fashion. Our no-till soybean ground has been "burned down" with gly-phos and what we have now are dead weeds and corn stalks and slow dry down of the soil underneath. It is my hope that by working to depth of 1" or so we can facilitate the drying process. No you still can't plant in mud, but I agree with other posts that if you have even a little bit of dry soil things work a whole lot better. | |
