Agreed Cliff. It takes a person with a decent head to run one. Usually we look at a field and we can tell whether the harrow will make a difference or not. Lots of times we have to take what we can get and plant whenever we can. If that means using the harrow to dry out the top 1/2" to keep the planter from balling up that's what we do. We have a SuperCoulter for the same reasons although we usually use that to dry out down 2-3".

Most naysayers have never used one nor been around one or tried to use one in pure mud. When ground gets a 1/8" layer of crust on top it can take hours to dry out after being harrowed instead of days.
