Another pro I was thinking of was tracks don't hold air and consequently will never go flat. We have fluid in our rears currently and it's a mess if you have to change tubes. Also, how would the price of a set(8) of big wide tires compare to a set of tracks in price. Yes our soils do experience compaction and we want to minimize that wherever possible. This sprng was ok even with our smaller tires because it was nice and dry. In years past when it was damp undernneath the digger pulled a little harder, the tractor slipped a little more, and the dirt in the wheel tracks was balled up and turned to cement when it dried. Everyones field looked that way that year. Even fields tilled with track tractors still showed signs of this but to less of a degree. I really appreciate all the input on this subject. It must be raining where you guys are, I didn't expect this many replies so fast!
