Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada | i do a lot of business based on a hand shake, or a spoken word on the phone.......if that trust is broken, by a deal not consummated, then the next time, a handshake or a spoken word is not good enough, the old saying goes "once bitten, twice shy". i will ask for payment upfront the second time round, if the first time didn't work.
in this case, where a farmer would be selling me something, and possibly didn't follow thru, he wouldn't get a second chance to sell to me.
