My experience has been all bad when trying to repair a hole in an air compressor tank. A small metal screw with a rubber washer installed in the hole has worked the best but is only a temporary fix. Typically, the tank hole is the result of rust and other areas of the tank are also running on borrowed time. Replacing the tank is the only long term solution.
